2,000 Islamabad Police personnel to be deployed in Azad Kashmir ahead of protests

ISLAMABAD: A large contingent of the Islamabad Capital Police is set to leave for Azad Kashmir tonight to assist in handling possible protests announced by the Action Committee on September 29, official sources confirmed.
According to details, 2,000 officers and personnel will be dispatched, with members drawn from all major units, including the Operations Division, Security Division, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), and the Anti-Riot Unit.
Police headquarters has issued instructions for the contingent to assemble with anti-riot gear and bedding arrangements before departure.
The deployment comes as authorities brace for demonstrations in the region, with federal forces being mobilized to support local law enforcement.
